Fishing October 2011

Fished Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week.

Biggest fish I caught was 3lbs 4oz. Charlie caught a 2lb 60z. The rest of the weekend we caught small stuff. Over 40 total. An oddly large amount of small fish, more so than previous years or trips. Makes me think there is some sort of change in the overall fish population taking place. Hopefully a good thing for years to come.

Here's the bait.... 3/8 oz jig head, smoke grub.

9-11-11 - Jessi eats a burger

Yup, the meat-fast is broken. On the anniversary of the twin tower's collapse... Jessi bites a burger and likes it.

camping Oct 1-2011

This is the third Friday me and Willy camped.

Jessi joined in.

Got down in the 50's, but overall great camping weather.

Heard a deer snorting at us just before midnight.

Had biscuits and sausage on the fire for breakfast.

Some of these photos are from earlier Fridays, but all are from the past three weekends.

That's a shrimp on a skewer wrapped in bacon, cooked on the fire.

Fishing and switching to 3/8 jig heads

Found success this weekend when using a heavier jig head. This made it easier to work the lure when fishing from the front of the boat and working the wind.

Caught two fish from the same spot this trip within a few casts.
